I'm devastated. I thought maybe Joe had moved after Tony got out of prison. But our mutual friend informed me he died last year of cancer. I had no clue.
Joe was a unique guy. He was very accepting but he didn't compromise what he thought was right. In other words, he would speak up, in a non-confrontational fashion, what he thought about the situation.
I'm beside myself. I had no idea Joe had anything like this going on in his life.
I'm blessed to be considered his friend. And, I pray, that his profession that Jesus is Lord and that He died and rose again, proving His Godliness, will allow us who believe the same to reunite with him in Heaven.
Thank you Joe for your friendship and your competitiveness as a teammate. You have meant the world to me.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make his face to shine upon you,
and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you,
and give you peace.
