Joseph Del Curto passed away Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017 at his home in Baker City, Oregon after a prolonged illness with cancer.  A Graveside Catholic Service will be held on Saturday, May 27th at 12:30 p.m., at Pine Haven Cemetery in Halfway, OR.  Friends are invited to join the family for a potluck reception to be held immediately following the service at the Pine Valley Grange, which is located directly across from the cemetery.

Joe was born in Baker City, OR March 30th, 1958 to the parents of Lawrence and Elba DelCurto.  He was raised on a small cattle ranch in Pine Valley and attended Pine Eagle Schools.  After graduation from Pine Eagle High School, Joe attended college at Eastern Oregon University.  While at Eastern Oregon University, Joe studied Business Administration and participated on the Eastern Oregon University Wrestling Team.  For the past 30 years, Joe has worked in the timber/wood products industry with positions at Ellingson’s Lumber Company, Prairie Wood Products in Prairie City, and most recently, Marvin’s Wood Products.

Joe was an avid sports fan and loved the outdoors.  His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, mushroom and wild-berry picking.  Although he never married, Joe enjoyed family and was very involved in the lives of his nieces and nephews.  In fact, Joe was a fixture at nieces and nephews sports and extracurricular activities.  Joe’s most unique traits would likely include having a wonderful sense of humor and positive outlook on life.  Joe never met a stranger and would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Joe was proceeded in death by his parents Lawrence and Elba DelCurto.

He is survived by his brothers and their spouses; Lorry and Lois DelCurto, Imbler, OR; Tony DelCurto, Baker City, OR; Tim and Tammi DelCurto of Belgrade, MT and numerous nieces and nephews.
