Todd Golar Obituary

Todd Edward Golar, 51, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2019 at St. Luke’s Meridian Medical Center in Meridian, Idaho. A graveside service will take place 11 a.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery on Monday, July 15, 2019. Friends are invited to join a potluck gathering and celebration of his life immediately following the service at 3645 Cedar Street.

Todd was born May 23, 1968 in Baker City, Oregon to Vernon and Valerie Golar. He attended Baker High School, where he played football and graduated with the class of 1986. After graduation Todd enrolled at the Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie, Wyoming, and when he finished his studies moved to Idaho to work for Dennis Dillon. He then returned to Baker City to work at Phillips-Long Ford (later Gentry Ford) where he worked for more than 20 years, starting out in the body shop, and later moving to the parts department where he eventually served as parts manager.

Todd married his soul mate Christine Timm on August 7, 1999 and they were blessed with four amazing boys. Their boys were a huge focus of his life, and he loved attending their sporting and school events. Each of them made him so proud.

Todd enjoyed the outdoors, having spent many childhood days in the mountains with his grandpa and father who were loggers, and later in life, snowmobiling with his friends. He had a special gift of making others laugh. No matter what was going on in his life, he always had the capacity to crack a joke and make the room feel lighter. He will be remembered for putting people in tear-inducing hysterics, and his sense of humor will be so missed.

Todd is survived by his wife of 20 years, Christine, sons Bradley, Brenden, Braxton, and Breyton; parents Vernon and Valerie; brother, Jeremy, aunt and uncle Paula and Doug Warrington, and aunt Evelyn Hogg, all of Baker City, Oregon; sister Staci (Robert Garcia) of San Diego, California; uncle Lee of Salem, Oregon; and numerous cousins.
