Tammy Lynn Runnels passed away at her home in Baker City, Oregon on June 16th, 2023 at the age of 64. A celebration of life with a potluck reception will be held on Sunday, July 2nd~ 3pm at the VFW Post #3048 (2005 Valley AVE) in Baker City.
On February 12th, 1959, she was born in Baker City, to Roy Leonard Cole and Wanda Virginia Cole. She grew up with one younger sister, Robin Anne Mastrude, living in Baker for most of her childhood.
Tammy married Mike Cassidy and later gave birth to her first daughter, Melissa May Cassidy, who was the joy of the entire family. Their marriage was eventually dissolved.
She eventually met Stan Runnels, they fell in love and married in 1989. They had three beautiful children together Beth, Neil, and Emily. Stan’s job took them to different locations throughout the northwest. They raised their kids in Eagle, Idaho and Hood River, Oregon. Upon becoming empty nesters they settled down in their hometown of Baker City.
Her primary role throughout her life was a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed her time working at the Walmart in Garden City, Idaho while her family lived in Eagle, Idaho. Most recently, she was a housekeeper for multiple families in the Baker area. In her off time from being a rockstar mom, she was an avid reader, enjoyed crafting, as well as any true crime TV series.
She is survived by her husband, Stan, children Beth, Neil, and Emily, sister Robin, and Boston terrier Roxy.
Tammy is preceded in death by the light of her life, her daughter Melissa May; parents Roy and Wanda, her paternal grandparents Sam and Myrtle, her maternal grandparents Hunter and Sarah.
