Sharon Mary Smith
February 26, 1949~ December 28, 2024
Sharon was born to Roy and Mary Blakely in Weiser, Idaho, on February 26, 1949, and then moved to Cambridge, Idaho, until her marriage in 1968. She graduated as Valedictorian in 1967. She was a cheerleader all four years and also a rodeo princess for three of those years. Sharon graduated from Links Business in Boise and worked in many places in John Day, including the Grant County Tax Assessor’s Office.
She loved to cook, read, garden, and play bridge. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Seattle Seahawks and the Utah Jazz. She volunteered at the John Day Library and the Methodist Thrift Store. Sharon was smart, funny, feisty, and very hardworking.
She is survived by her husband, Jim W. Smith; son, Travis Smith; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Hailey Smith; and her sister, Sheila Johnston of Scappoose.
We who loved her will greatly miss her. May she rest in peace. To leave a condolence for Sharon, please visit tamispinevalleyfuneralhome.com
