Ruth Jeanette Waltman of Baker City, Oregon passed away on Friday the 30th of June, peacefully in her home surrounded by her children. Per her request, there will be no funeral service.
Ruth was born to parents Helen Jeanette Miller and Fritts James Miller on May 24th, 1941 in Santa Barbara, California. Ruth was a stay at home mom and then spent many years working at the International Paper Company in Vaughn, Oregon. She also worked at Wapsi Fly Factory in Mountain Home, Arkansas. After her return to Oregon, she worked as a health aide at Settlers Park here in Baker City. She also spent her time volunteering at the Baker Heritage Museum.
Ruth enjoyed the outdoors and working in her yard and garden. She had a green thumb like no other. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, and friend. Ruth will be missed immensely by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 28 years Ronald Waltman; parents Helen and Fritts Miller; son in law Sam Spade.
Ruth is survived by her children Mark (Lillian) Ramge and Stacey Spade (Jim Sorenson); grandchildren Brenna (Dylan) Leavitt, Sierra Spade, Dustin Ramge, and Logan Spade; Great Grandchildren Lucile Grae Leavitt and Juniper Ruth Law; as well as her sweet dog “Polly” and her cat “Simba”, who will be staying in the family.
