Rush Long Obituary

Rush Leonard Long, 83, died on April 20, 2023 surrounded by family at his home as he wished. A Memorial Service - Celebration of Rush's life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 - 11:00 a.m. (pst) or 12:00 (mst) Friends are invited to join the family for a reception immediately following. Food and refreshment will be provided.

Rush was born March 13, 1940 in New York, NY. Rush was raised in Klamath Falls Oregon and graduated from Klamath Union High School where he was a member of the 1958 state championship wrestling team. Shortly after High school Rush enlisted in the United States Navy where he was in the Seabees. After the Navy he spent a career as an electrician working up and down the west coast most notably for Murray Electric of Roseburg OR. and Dave Durr Electric of Halfway OR. He had three loves of his life (besides his ex wives) hunting/ fishing, trap shooting and working on his old cars for show and shines and parades.

Rush never went anywhere without his best dog "chukar". He ran the Panhandle trap club in Halfway for numerous years. He was a member of the Cowboy fast Draw Association and a lifetime member of the NRA.

Favorite sayings "There’s no free lunch", "nothing last for ever" and "your word is all you have in life".

Rush was preceded in death by his parents Rush E and Mary Long, his sister, Cathy Long and his son Patrick Kelly Long.

Rush is survived by his son Charles Long and wife Christine of Fairfield CA, daughter Kim Long of Klamath Falls, son Jim Long and wife Tami of Boise Idaho, son Randy Long and wife Virginia of Arlington WA, numerous grand Children and great grandchildren.
