Roger Holden, 83, of Baker City, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at the Baker City Nazarene Church at 1:00 p.m. Friends are invited to join the family for a reception to be held immediately following.
Roger was born September 5, 1941, in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. He was the oldest of eight children. He married Naomi on June 13, 1960, and they lived in a logging camp at Sawbill Landing, Minnesota, where Roger hauled pulpwood and owned his own logging truck. Their three children were born during this time.
Roger answered a call to ministry in 1974 and moved his family to Nampa, Idaho, where he attended Northwest Nazarene College. In 1977, they moved to Vale, Oregon, where Roger served as pastor for 11 years. He then served New Bridge Nazarene Church for nine years before the family settled in Baker City, Oregon, in 1995.
An avid outdoorsman, Roger enjoyed mule packing, steelhead fishing, and hunting.
Roger is survived by his wife of 65 years, Naomi; three children: Rick, Mike, and Shelley; and two granddaughters, Emily and Ellen.
