Rod Blomquist, 84, of Baker City, where he lived
on his beloved ranch, died February 7, 2023.
Instead of a formal funeral service, Rod requested
a casual gathering of family and friends to remember
the good times they shared. This celebration will be
on Saturday, April 8, from 2-4 p.m., at the VFW Club,
2005 Valley Ave., Baker City.
Rod was born April 27, 1938, to John and Ruby
Blomquist. Rod was raised in the Beaverton area,
where he met his wife, Sharell. They married in
Beaverton on July 19, 1959. Rod served in the Army
in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. They lived in Newburg
until 1998, when Rod retired and they moved to
Baker City.
Rod is survived by his sons, Tracey and Darin;
Darin’s wife, JoAnna; and his grandchildren. Rod was
preceded in death by his wife, Sharell, and parents,
John and Ruby Blomquist.
