Robert “Bob” Charles Duggan passed away on March 6, 2025, in Baker City, Oregon, at the age of 81. A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held on May 10, 2025, 3:00PM at the VFW Hall in Halfway, Oregon. There will be a potluck reception to follow.
Born on September 14, 1943, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, Bob lived a life full of laughter, camaraderie, and adventure. He never met a stranger—just a friend he hadn’t shared a joke with yet.
A 1962 graduate of Klamath Union High School, Bob soon set off on a new adventure, joining the U.S. Navy in 1963. Following Naval recruit training and technical school, he was assigned as the personal driver for the Admiral of the Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor. In this duty he attended to the Admiral both across Oahu and at the many mainland destinations required for the Admiral’s command, fostering his great love for travel and the open road. He left active Naval service in 1967, returning to Klamath Falls to complete his reserve duties and resume civilian life.
Soon after, he met his bride-to-be and accompanied her to Seattle as she completed her teaching degree. In 1969, Bob married Tamia Mitchell, and together they built a life in Seattle, later settling in Mountlake Terrace, Washington. They welcomed two daughters, Kara Lyn in 1970 and Keela Ranae in 1974. Though their paths later diverged, Bob remained a dedicated father and took great pride in his family. After moving to Camano Island, Washington, he embraced small-town life, always finding ways to stay connected with friends, whether through a game of cards, a shared joke, or a road trip.
Bob had an unwavering devotion to his family, especially his siblings. The bond he shared with John, his twin brother Richard (Dick), Mike, and Kathy was one of deep love, laughter, and lifelong friendship. They were more than family; they were his closest companions, always there for each other through life’s twists and turns.
A proud lifetime member of the VFW, Bob was deeply connected to his fellow veterans and cherished the friendships he made along the way. He was also a devoted dog lover, and his loyal companion, Ringo, was never far from his side.
Bob is survived by his daughters Kara and Keela; his grandchildren Mikayla, Keagan, Ronan, Aiden, and Fionn; and his beloved siblings John, Dick, Mike, and Kathy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ione Duggan.
Bob’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and the simple joy of good company. His stories, his humor, and his love of the road will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
