Phil was born on Sunday, May 2nd, 1976 in John Day, Oregon to Richard Dale Berry and Julie Irene Berry.
He was an amazing son, brother, uncle and great uncle who many knew as a gentle giant. Phil was kind and loving and gave the very best gifts that always seemed tailored to the person he was gifting. He was a big guy with an even bigger heart and will be greatly missed by his family and in this community that he called home.
Phil graduated from Grant Union High School in 1994. With much dedication to his sport and with his extraordinary strength, he excelled in wrestling, taking third place in the Heavyweight Bracket Oregon State Wrestling his senior year.
In 2000, he moved to Baker City, to live closer to his oldest brother. He moved in with him for a time and worked for Tasty- Bake-Pizza, until they closed. Phil then went to work for Albertson's, where he loyally worked until God called him home. He took pride in his hard work ethic and rarely missed a day of work, even arriving an hour early at times.
Phil is preceded in death by his loving mother Julie Berry, aunt Melanie Harvey and Grandmother Lois Harvey, each who had an extremely special bond with him.
He is survived by his father Richard Berry, whom he lived with, and his dad called him a blessing in the years after the passing of his mother, older brother Shawn Berry and sister-in-law Megan Berry, younger brother Adam Berry and sister-in-law Trista Berry.
His true joy was the love he felt for his nieces, nephews, grandniece and grandnephew, who he spoiled to no end, the Berry kids: Grant, Jadyn, Isaac, Elijah, Brynn, Arya and Miles.
