Pamela "Pam" (Bennett) DuMars, 73, of Richland, Oregon died on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at her home with family at her side. A Celebration of Pam's Life will be held May 31, 2025 - 2 p.m. at the DuMars Farm in Richland, Oregon.
Pamela Bennett DuMars was born on March 10, 1951 in Baker, Oregon. She was raised and educated in Richland, graduating from Pine Eagle High School in 1969. During her youth, she was on several fair rodeo courts and she was a Rodeo Court Mother.
Pam met Robert DuMars back in 1958 when they were neighbors, children, growing up on the same road. Life had a way of bringing them back together and they married on June 12, 1999 in McCormick Park.
Pam went to school to become a hairdresser. She opened Pam’s Hair Affair in Halfway, Oregon. She also worked for Idaho Power for a time and for Baker County Parks and Recreation.
During her life she lived in Halfway, Richland, “The Ghetto (Brownlee)” La Grande and Sunnyside, Washington.
She enjoyed riding horses, gardening, canning, remodeling her grandmother’s house (which is the house they currently live in-in Richland) hunting, camping, quilting and spending time in East Eagle.
Pam’s favorite’s included the color red, yellow roses and her little furbabies Daisy Mae, Jasmine, Little Jo “LJ”. She was a member of the Panhandle Snowmobile Club and was the secretary for 8 years.
Memorable dates in her life included having a chance to visit her sister in Alaska two years ago and riding her horses on many trails in the Eagle Cap Wilderness.
She was preceded in death by her parents Odie Lovell Bennett and Mary Adelia Thompson Bennett.
Pam is survived by her husband Bob, daughters Angie Tucker (Jake Sprauer) of Richland, Oregon, Cindy Thomas (Shaun) of Nampa, Idaho; granddaughters Kianna and Taneisha Thomas; Sister Marlene Geils of Alaska; Nieces Celeste Prescott of Utah, Nicole (Thom) Geils of Alaska and great nephew Chanc Prescott. A special thanks to Paul and Terry Tarter and to Darrell Martin, her best riding partner.
