Oval Dixon Obituary

Oval Dixon, 99, died Friday, September 28, 2018 at her son’s home in North Powder, OR.   A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018~ 1p.m. at the Family Worship Center in Albany, OR.

Oval Virginia was born on the 4th of July, 1919 to parents Brady and Flora Mitchell in Mansford, Oklahoma.  She came to Oregon at a very young age, as her family followed the crops which included beans, hops, and strawberries.

One night at a dance, her brother Don for introduced her to Loren Dixon. They fell in love and Oval married Loren June 6, 1938.

Oval lived in Alsea, Eugene, Albany and Sisters, Oregon.  She was a housewife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her family, doing activities, sewing and serving in her church.  She lived her life in preparation for Jesus to be coming at any time and was a good representative for Jesus Christ. She loved to quote, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all”(Psalm 34:19).

Oval lived with her son Floyd and daughter-in-law Linda in North Powder, for the last 2 years where she enjoyed grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved and prayed for all her family, daily.  She liked sitting in the sun outside and playing with our dog Missy. She was loved and we will miss her saying "Here I go" each time she got up to her walker to take off. She would not eat until prayer was said. She was a good mother and mother in law and wonderful Christian woman. Her faith never wavered and she sang along with her favorite Christian music. She would say, " I wonder if all the kids know how many times a day they are prayed for". What a blessing she was to us all.

She was preceeded in death by her husband Loren; sons Larry and Lloyd; sisters Wava and Melba and brothers Don, Web, and Bill.

Oval is survived by her sons Dennis and Floyd; brother Allie; sisters Jewel and Fern; 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
