Okie McAdams July 1 2004 – November 2 2019
Our amazing Okie passed away November 2, 2019 after a courageous 11-month fight with that hideous disease we know as cancer. He has now gone on to once again play with his brother (Raider) as well as Grandma and Grandpa Tibbets, Duke, Tucker, Tosha, Audi and Buckshot. In typical Okie fashion he was happy, friendly, brave and sweet to the end.
I am sure that we all believe our pets to be the very best pet imaginable but simply calling Okie the best canine companion ever would not do him justice. Losing a friend like Okie leaves a hole in our hearts that is impossible to mend. We had the privilege of calling Okie ours for 15 years, 4 months and 1 day and we will cherish every one of those days in our memory and in our hearts.
Okie was a simple dog with simple pleasures. He was happiest when he could just sit and cuddle on the couch with his mom or dad…usually with one of his many “woobies” close at hand. He was a total people person, a fierce protector of his family and home, a chaser of squirrels, chipmunks, birds, rabbits and anything else he thought he could catch and a constant companion to his mom. Okie’s favorite place was anywhere his family was…camping, boating, Jeeping…if he could just be with his family he was a happy boy.
We will miss you forever Okie. We are thankful that the pain is no longer with you and know that you are now in that place where only the best dogs get to go…hopefully in a room full of your favorite “woobies”. Rest in Peace sweet boy.
