Mackenzie "Kenzie" Dennis Obituary

Mackenzie “Kenzie” Ann Dennis

January 12, 2011 – May 31, 2025

Mackenzie “Kenzie” Ann Dennis, age 14, of Haines, Oregon, passed away on May 31, 2025, at St. Luke’s Regional Hospital in Boise, Idaho, surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of Kenzie’s life will be held on Friday, June 13th at 1:00 PM at the Baker City Church of the Nazarene with a reception to follow. All who knew and loved her are welcome.

Kenzie was born on January 12, 2011, in La Grande, Oregon, and brought joy and light to all who knew her. A proud 8th grader at Baker Middle School, Kenzie was full of life, love, and spirit. She had a passion for softball, a keen eye for elk hunting, and a fearless love of skiing. She sang in the school choir, was active in her church youth group, and enjoyed learning all things skincare.

Kenzie’s bright personality lit up every room she entered. She was loving, sassy, smart, and incredibly talented—a natural leader with a deep and sincere faith in God. Her courage and kindness live on through her selfless choice to be an organ donor.

She is survived by her devoted parents: Mother Jennifer Chahal and stepfather Jag Chahal; Father Jacob Dennis and stepmother Aleigha Dennis. She will be deeply missed by her siblings Wyatt and Elle Dennis; stepsiblings Emma, Kota, and Miles Davis; Great-Grandfather Larry Hack; Grandparents Betty and Allen Hack; Aunt Robin Hack; Uncle and Aunt Travis and Jamie Hack; and Cousins Robby and Kaylie Hack.

Kenzie was preceded in death by her beloved Great-Grandmother Donna Hack, Great-Aunt Rhonda Hack, Nana Maria Dennis and Grampa Roscoe “Bimbo” Dennis.

In her short time on Earth, Kenzie made an immeasurable impact. She will be remembered always for her big heart, vibrant spirit, and unwavering faith.  For those who would like to make a memorial donation in memory of Kenzie, the family suggests the Baker High School Choir through Tami’s Pine Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Services PO Box 543 Halfway, Oregon 97834.  Online condolences may be shared at www.tamispinevalleyfuneralhome.com
