Lynn Grote, 75, of Joseph, Oregon died at her home on August 12, 2024 surround by love. Per Lynn’s request there will not be a service.
Lynn Marie was born on May 3, 1949 in Colfax, Washington. She attended 1-7 grades in Joseph, Oregon 8-10 in Clarkston, Washington and then returned 10 – 12 graduating from Joseph High School in 1967. She married Michael Miller and they had two children together. They later divorced.
She then met her life partner Donald Bronson 1991 and they have been together ever since. She loved dancing with Don, riding her horse “Sugar," Lynn also enjoyed deer and elk hunting.
During Lynn’s life she worked for the US Forest Service as a civil engineering technician and did so from 1972 to 1997. During and after her retirement, Lynn was the ordering manager for the Blue Mountain fire team. She also worked with a special team who assisted with equipment with the Space Shuttle Challenger recovery in Texas. Lynn enjoyed mushroom and huckleberry picking and she enjoyed visiting the ocean. She was a member of the Soroptimist’s Enterprise Branch.
She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore Grote and Mina Drake Elliot.
Lynn is survived by her life partner of 33 years Donald Bronson; daughters Toni Bennett of Baker City, Oregon, Wendy Roberts of La Grande, Oregon; Grandchildren Tyrel Rankin, Casey Rankin and his wife Ryley, Kara Bennett, Alayne Bennett, Troy Bennett, Carsyn Roberts, Jordann and her husband Eric DeWitt; great grandchildren Silas Rankin and Parker DeWitt; sister Lori and husband John Ingle.
