Our girl went by many names: Lucy Blue, Lulu, Bluesy the Floozy (she would give lovies to everyone she met!) and the list goes on! No matter what you called her, she would greet you with a smile. She was born on November 5th, 2019 to the Givens family In Halfway, Oregon with her adoptive family eagerly awaiting her arrival. She came to her forever home with the Harris family soon after.
Lucy Blue Harris was a special girl with a profound love for her human dad, Brandon. She was his Christmas gift from his family that year and what a gift she turned out to be! From the beginning she would follow him everywhere and they soon developed daily routines that included morning snuggle time, feeding her chickens, dinner time bones, and running down grandma’s driveway. Her many special quirks are what makes losing her so difficult.
LuLu never met a baby of any kind that she did not try to make her own. If it had fur, feathers, or skin and it was cute and cuddly, it was her baby! She never had children of her own but she raised every baby that her lunatic mother ever brought home. The only thing she refused to care for were mice. Just like her human mom, she wanted nothing to do with them being alive and so one mouse at a time, she took to wiping them off the face of the earth. You could see her out daily in the field next to the house, bounding around like a deer, pouncing on mice and voles. It brought her tremendous joy!
Our treasured girl left us too soon on December 2nd with her family by her side. She joins her sister Jasmine over the rainbow bridge. We like to think that her doggie heaven is a field full of mice to pounce on, some covers to snuggle under, a lawnmower to bark at, and that she is there waiting at the door when we get there.
Lucy Blue leaves behind her human dad and mom, Brandon and Sandra Harris, her human brothers Leland Harris, Logan Harris, Micah Huston and Croy Huston. She also leaves her dog sisters Basil and Sunny, her Nana and Papa and Grandma Carolyn. We will see you again one day, doggo.
