Lorraine Gunter, 71, of Halfway, died at her home on November 30, 2024. A Celebration of her life and reception will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the home of Dick Crow 227 W Church Street in Halfway, Oregon. .
Selena Lorraine was born on November 20, 1953 in Halfway, Oregon at the old ranch home. She was raised in Halfway, Oregon attending Pine Valley Grade School and Pine Valley High School, graduating in 1972.
She married Larry Gunter; they met at her sister’s home in Portland. Larry had a construction company and the work entailed lots of traveling which entailed as far as Europe and Austria. After Larry’s death, Lorraine moved back to Halfway.
Lorraine was a “fair” artist, according to her brother. She painted a horse, and this horse watches you from any direction in the room. She won a buckle at the Jr. Rodeo for bull riding when she was 17.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert “Curley” and Beulah Crow; husband Larry; siblings Marion, Marlene, Betty, Melba, Rosie, John, Elaine and Jerry; nephews Travis and Jim.
Lorraine is survived by her brothers Dave and Dick Crow; sister Louise (Wayne) Tyler; brother-in-law Daryl Woolf; several nieces and nephews and extended family.
