Lorelai Martin

Lorelai was born July 5th, 2008 and I took her home labor day of that year. For over 11 years I got to love Lorelai, and got to be loved by her as well. She has been my best friend and I will miss her forever. Lorelai passed away on January 30, 2020. She had just gotten a clean bill of health from her vet, but when she went to cough up a hair ball she had a major seizure/stroke and passed away. Her vet thinks she might have had a clot in her lung, or an aneurysm. 

She wasn't very friendly to anyone but me for a very long time, but eventually came to love and trust a select few people in her own way. The house rule was that Lorelai could touch you, but you couldn't touch her. I taught Lorelai as a kitten to boop her forehead to my lips for kisses, and over the years she developed a compulsive habit of it, to the point that if you presented your face to her she would boop you. Even if she hated you and didn't want you to touch her, she would press her forehead to your lips. And if she liked you, then she would very aggressively bump her head into your face at any given time until she alone decided that you had had enough. 

Some of her more strange habits included "nursing" on my arms and blankets when she was happy, ripping holes out of those same blankets when she was stressed, eating napkins, hunting her stuffed raccoon and bring it to me, drinking my coffee and stealing my food. Anything with vinegar was her favorite.
