Lillian Moore

Lillian Moore, 96, of Baker City, died Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Settler's Park Assisted Living.  There will be a private family celebration, at which time, Lillian will be laid to rest beside her husband at Willamette National Cemetery.

Lillian Laurine Kralicek was born December 7, 1922 to parents Joseph and Mary Kralicek in Dickinson, North Dakota.  From a very young age, she worked on the family run farm, most of which was done manually, by hand without today’s farming mechanization.

Lillian married Gerald “Jerry” Moore October 5, 1946. They had two sons and were married for 66 years, before his passing in 2012.

During WWII she worked in the shipyards as a welder, one of many “Rosie the Riveter” girls.  She provided housekeeping services for several clients for many years and worked the hardest at home provisioning for her family and loved ones. She was also a member of the Oregon State Extension Service.  She lived in Boston MA, Portland OR, Union, La Grande, and Baker City, OR during her life.

Memorable dates included the births of her grandchildren Jessica Schilling, Dillion, Emily, and Justin Moore and great-grandchild Kayne Diaz and all of their accomplishments.

Lillian enjoyed gardening, cooking, preserving, and the mountains. Impressively, even in her 90’s she would go outside to walk with her ski poles.  She was known to recite “The Serenity Prayer” and she lived by the philosophy that “Love is the most important emotion in existence, the thread that holds all together and allows any of us to overcome life’s obstacles”.  Lillian’s legacy is the steadfast belief of the importance of family and the love and nurturing that best supports it.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Moore.

Lillian is Survived by her Sons Michael and wife Sandy Moore of Haines, OR, Douglas and wife Kristi Moore of Veneta, OR; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
