Liddy Adamson Obituary

Liddy Adamson, 90, died at her home in Richland, Oregon on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Liddy was born on December 16, 1935 to Orin and Mary (Cropp) Clemons in Baker City and here she attended early school. After the War, her family moved to Eagle Valley where she graduated in 1953. Throughout high school, Liddy was very active with Pep Club, FHA, Glee Club, and Speech Club. She loved playing Volleyball for Eagle Valley High. The tap and ballet classes she attended for many years in Richland were her passion though.

After graduation, she married Doug Greene who had just returned from the Army and they had two children; Scott and Debbie.

For years, Liddy worked on the Bookmobile for Baker County Library and was affectionately known as the “Bookmobile Lady.” Upon moving to Boise, she joined Chandler Lumber Supply, working in their accounting office. It was here that she reconnected with her dear friend Joe Adamson. Their beautiful friendship blossomed and they were soon married. In 1990, Joe and Liddy started J & L Enterprises with 5 trucks and many self-owned and operated units. They worked long hours to make their business venture a success alongside a wonderful bunch of drivers who became lifelong friends. Eventually, they decided it was time to retire and moved to Richland in1997.

Her entire life she loved her roses (something she learned from her Mom), landscaping her yard, and crafting especially with her grandchildren.

For years, Liddy has cared for a great multitude of abandoned kitties ensuring they had a warm, dry place to sleep and a full tummy no matter what the personal cost. She was very thankful for the great help she received from her dear friend Judy Stewart over the years with trapping to spay and neuter, as well as finding as many homes as possible for her precious babies, and Best Friends of Baker when they were able to assist. Many people helped feed and care for her cats when she struggled to do it herself due to her illness and that meant the world to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Orin and Mary, sister Mary “Vonnie” Bennett, her brother James “Jimmy” Clemons and her precious husband Joe.

Liddy is survived by her daughter Debbie Greene of Denver NC, son Scott Greene of Parma, ID; stepsons Ed (Jan) Adamson of Fairfield MT, Steve (Shirley) Adamson of Salt Lake City UT and 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and numerous extended family members.
