Leslee Bailey Obituary

Leslee June Bailey, 68, of Baker City, OR passed away peacefully at her home on August 30, 2024.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date, time and place to be announced.

Leslee was born at St. Elizabeth hospital in Baker City, OR to parents Dale and June Bennett.  She was the youngest of three children. She was raised in Baker and graduated from Baker High in 1974.

Leslee was a fierce player for the women’s softball team known as the “Road Runners”. They achieved an undefeated season record which led to their second women’s league title. Leslee was very proud of this accomplishment.

Her working career in the banking world included serving her community through good customer service. Most memorable was her time spent at Pioneer Savings and Loan.

Leslee had a great laugh. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, photography and hiking.

She married William Bailey on July 8, 1988. During their courtship, they enjoyed playing catch together, despite Leslee’s fast pitch that William once caught in the face.

Special times in her life included the birth of her daughter and granddaughters.

Leslee is survived by her husband William Bailey of Baker City, OR; daughter Nellie (Alan) Shankle of Baker City, OR; brothers Vance (Celeste) Bennett of Winnemucca, NV, Dan (Steve)Rabitoy of Welches OR; granddaughters Kinsely June and Peyton Ann Shankle.
