Larry Zillgitt, 64, of Baker City, died Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Settlers Park.
Larry was born in Inglewood, California on August 30, 1958. He was raised in Palmdale CA and Grants Pass, OR. He graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1977.
Following High School he attended both the University of Oregon and Southern Oregon where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Science.
Larry worked various jobs throughout his life including Wildland Fire Fighting, Lee’s Body and Paint shop and the City of Medford water dept. His longest job he was most passionate about was gold mining, be it dredging or panning.
Larry was a self-taught artist who had a knack for water color painting and pencil and charcoal drawing. In his younger years he enjoyed cross country skiing and running, motocross and football. Larry also enjoyed hunting both elk and deer.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Leroy Zillgitt and brother Michael Zillgitt; beloved huskies Curley and Rylee.
He is survived by his mother Sally (Don) Pearce of Crescent, OR; brother Lee Pearce of Baker City, OR; sister Cindy Zillgitt Broadwater of Prospect, OR and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
