Landon Fischer Obituary

Landon Fischer, 72, of Baker City, OR died on May 15, 2025 at St. Alphonsus Regional Hospital in Baker City.  A graveside service will be held on June 23 at 1 p.m  at Mount Hope Cemetery in Baker City, OR.

Landon Joseph Fischer was born on March 9, 1953 in Ontario, OR to Don and Jo Fischer.  He was raised in Baker with his 4 siblings and attended St. Frances Academy where he graduated in 1971.  Landon spent a short amount of time in the Portland area during his younger years, but eventually came back to Baker City where he lived peacefully for the rest of his days.  He was very well rooted in the community there, and wouldn't have had it any other way.

Landon met and married Deb Pilcher and together they adopted their son Jake at 2 days old.  They later decided to go their separate ways.  He then met and married Leta (Heck) who had three children Jacque, Jeff and Jason, whom he also adopted.  Landon and Leta had a happy 27 years together before Leta passed away in 2015 due to early onset Alzheimer's Disease. Following her death, Landon found love once more when he married Connie Melton.  He and Connie also shared a happy marriage until sadly, she died in 2021 after complications from Covid-19.

Landon worked at Ash Grove Cement for many years as a physical tester and lab tech.

He enjoyed Bible studies, sharing his faith, and fellowship.  Motorcycle riding and spending time with his many church friends were among his favorite things to do.  He was also an avid photographer and took many photos of everything from scenery to family and pets. His favorite color was blue and his most special plant was a rose bush that was received as a wedding gift when he married Leta in 1988. It was known as “Leta’s Rose Bush” and still blooms beautifully each year.  Landon’s greatest accomplishment was being a good father to his four adopted children.  He created the family he had always wanted.

Landon will be remembered for always being strong and steadfast in his faith.  He had a strong love of his family and was a good friend to many.  Also, he could be very stubborn, always living every day exactly how he saw fit.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Leta and Connie Fischer; parents Don and Jo Fischer; beloved fur babies Oz, Tanner, and several other favorite dogs throughout the years.

Landon is survived by his daughter Jacque Fischer of Union, OR; sons Jeff (Tara) Fischer of Sherwood, OR; Jake (Megan) Fischer of North Powder, OR;  Jason (Nicole) Fischer of Boise, ID; and Race Fischer of North Powder OR; brothers Rick (Barb) Fischer, Greg (Julie) Fischer, Steve (Shelly) Fischer; sister Monica Romageaux; grandchildren Marlon Peters, Malikai Peters, Trevyn Fischer, Hailey Sult, Jackson McConniel, and McKinley Fischer.
