Jerry Peer

Jerry Peer, 88, of Halfway, Oregon died on September 5, 2022 at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Ontario, Oregon. A Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 - 11:00 a.m. at the Pine Valley Fair Grounds Community Center in Halfway, Oregon.  Interment will follow with Military Honors at the Pine Haven Cemetery.  Friends are invited to join the family immediately following back at the Pine Valley Fair Grounds for a reception (food & beverage provided by the family)

Jerry L. Peer was born on September 19, 1933 in Meridian, Idaho at home.  He was raised on the family farm south of Meridian, ID; went to Meridian Grade School; graduated from Meridian High School, Meridian, ID 1952.

Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Korea for 3 years.

He met Dorothy Kelly and they were married in 1956 and had 5 children.  During his life he worked for Idaho Power and did so for 40 years until his retirement.  During his time with Idaho Power, they lived at Hells Canyon.  After retirement they moved to Emmett, Idaho for 12 years, then back to Halfway.

 Jerry enjoyed raising a beautiful family, watching his kids and grandkids grow up, hunting, fishing, and especially watching the Dallas Cowboys play.

His favorite color was blue and he enjoyed growing zinnias and the cool weather of fall. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Elma Peer, Brother Donald and his wife Eleanor Peer; sister Jeannine Perkins; wife of 63 years Dorothy Peer; grandson Joshua Peer; Granddaughter Jade Peer; great granddaughter Gracie Faye.

 Jerry is survived by his daughters; Tricia Lindsay, Halfway, OR, Karene and Rene Roberts of Hermiston, OR; sons Roger and Beth Peer of Prineville, OR,  Gerald  and Edrie Peer of Wendell, ID,  Darryl and Kathy Peer of Halfway, OR; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; brother  Dennis and Bonnie Peer of Eagle, ID, and his 4 legged companion Jack.
