Jasmine Harris Obituary

Jasmine Harris

The lord delivered Jazzy to the exact perfect spot at exactly the perfect time in
January of 2009. A wriggly, black lump of fur, illuminated by the street light in a
church parking lot, was something that her human dad couldn’t ignore. What he
thought might be a kitten turned out to be a one-of-a-kind companion!
She found her family just before her human brother Leland was born so their
birthdays became one! He didn’t know it at the time but she would become his best
friend for many years to come!
Jazzy would herd him and chase him, and for a very long time, she was able to keep
up to his pace. In the end, she ended her reign here on earth with six human brothers
and one fur sister. All of those siblings meant that she never had to slow down, which
was just fine with her! As fast as her stubby legs would go, she would follow after the
four wheeler and explore every inch of her world. She loved to chase anything that
was thrown her way and never turned down a treat. Her younger years were filled
with adventures, cuddles and loads of spoils!
As time went on, the kids got bigger and some of them started leaving home. Kyle
and Dylan were adults now and went out to build their own worlds. Leland and
Logan are in junior high and, with busy sports schedules; it doesn’t afford them much
time for cuddles. By the time her family became one with Micah and Croy’s family,
she didn’t have the same gusto. Most of the time she would take extended naps with
lots of snoring or follow any kid around barking at them to stop having too much fun.
Her family started calling her the “fun police”!
Jazzy got tired. She started to get grey and her vision and hearing were the first to go.
Somehow, she still managed to navigate to any destination and her schedule was not
to be tampered with. She knew exactly what time dad needed to give out the cookies
and even though she couldn’t hear, she’d wake from a dead sleep at any sign that he
might be leaving. Going for a ride was an opportunity she never missed!
She was a keeper and even though she was a grumpy, old girl in the end, she never
had to wonder if she was loved. Jazzy is survived by her human dad and mom,
Brandon and Sandra Harris, six brothers Dylan, Kyle, Leland, Logan, Micah and Croy,
and a fur sister, Lucy Blue.
