Jamie Joseph Weiss, also known to many as “Skip”, sadly passed away at the age of 55,  Sunday, April 11th 2021, in Baker City, OR.  A private family service will be held in his hometown of Reno, NV.

Skip was born on April 17th , 1965 to Judith Weiss in Reno, NV. He spent his childhood in Reno where he attended Wooster High School, and greatly enjoyed fishing on the Truckee River. He later moved to Baker City, OR where he remained until his death.

Skip was a very talented craftsman, specializing in carpentry, masonry, and art. He could create just about anything he put his mind to. His hobbies included fishing, target shooting, wood working, archery, and camping. He dreamed of building a mini house on his freightliner and traveling the country, stopping along the way to visit his children and grandchildren that he loved so deeply.

Skip sincerely had a heart of pure gold. Always finding the means to help others going through hard times. Even when he had nothing to give he always found a way to make people smile. The love he held for his children and family was beyond measure. Sadly, the burden of trauma and addiction took him from us far too soon.

Skip was preceded in death by his son Jacob Weiss.

He is survived by his daughter Amanda White; son David Weiss; granddaughter Amelia and grandson Edison; mother Judy; brother Chris; sisters Amy and Jody; uncles David and Carson.

Skip’s passing truly leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed and remembered for the joy that he brought into our lives. May he finally be at peace and know how greatly he was loved. Online condolences can be shared at www.tamispinevalleyfuneralhome.com

Skip, we all miss you so very much. The smile you would have when we saw you, the way you would get when the kids were around, the things you would do to help anybody out. We all will have you in our hearts forever. I pray that our son will grow into a man that you were. A man of integrity,  a Man with a big heart, a man that cared for everyone, and a man that loved his children more than anything in the world. I know we didn't get along very well, and I hope you forgive me for what I've said and I hope you understand the decisions I had  made. You have taught us all a good lesson, and I pray that everyone listens. Don't judge people for their faults, or what they look like, or how they look, or the way they live. We all got to treat others the way we want to be treated. Love is the ultimate thing we all lack at times. I'm so happy that you are apart of my life and all my kids life. I will always be grateful for God bringing you into my life, and giving us our son, and bringing Jake and Amanda into our lives. May God help those that have done you wrong, and they see the path they will receive. Say Hi to your son, "Jake Weiss", my dad " Richard Hansen", my sister "Terri Hansen", and my grandma "Marie Bradshaw". May they help you find the answers that we all are searching for. I will always love you and cherish the memories we made together. We will see each other again.
