Gregory Gerke Obituary

Gregory Jay Gerke, 63, of La Grande, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the La Grande Post-Acute Rehab Medical Facility. 

Greg was born October 15, 1957 in Rockford, Illinois. 

He joined the United States Army in 1975.  After he was honorably discharged he began a career in transportation driving a Semi-truck.  One of his proudest accomplishments was operating and owning a Semi-Truck.

Greg lived many places during his life including Anaheim, CA, Prineville, Union, and La Grande, OR.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushrooming, and riding 4-wheelers.  He also loved to spoil his dogs Jake and Bandit during their lives.  Greg had a funny sense of humor and would always say, “That’s what she said”.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Greg is survived by his daughter Lena Gray of La Grande, OR; grandchildren Trevor Lofton and Alexia Gray; great-grandchildren Michael and Sara Lofton.
