Gloria Wilson, 85, died on May 3, 2022 in Richland, Washington at Kadlec Regional Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 - 2:00 p.m. at the Pine Baptist Church in Halfway, Oregon.
Gloria Evelyn was born on March 7, 1937 in Prairie City, Oregon to Oscar and Pauline (Thompson) Thomas. She was raised in John Day and Mt. Vernon. Gloria left school after her Junior year and got married, but obtained a GED in 1969.
Gloria and Wayne Wilson met while going to school in Mt. Vernon. They were married in Winnemucca, Nevada in August 1954 and they had two daughters. Gloria worked at Pacific NW Bell over a period of 12 years off and on. She then worked for the bank in Prairie City for 7 years and was the church secretary for 6 ½ years.
She loved to camp, fish, LOVED HER DAUGHTERS and enjoyed ministering to young women.
In 2007 Wayne and Gloria moved to Richland, Oregon. This last year, she moved to Baker City. Her favorite season was spring, favorite color was lavender and a favorite saying Proverbs 3:5-6.
Gloria would like to be remembered as being a loving caring Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Wife; and her love for her Savior Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne, infant granddaughter Jody Hills.
Gloria is survived by her daughters Debra and husband Pete Wells of West Richland, Washington, Joan and husband Kurt Hills of Baker City, Oregon; brother Jack Thomas, sisters Naomi Moss and Barbara Reilly; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
