David Sorensen

David Melvin Sorensen, 69, of Baker City, Oregon, passed away due to heart complications on July 21, 2025 at St Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho.  A graveside service will be held on October 25 th~ 2 p.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Baker City, Oregon followed by a private memorial gathering.

David was born on August 17, 1955, in Deadwood, South Dakota. He spent his working life as a skilled glazier. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter. In his early years he had a love for slow pitch softball and motorcycle rides. David lived a life marked by simplicity and an appreciation for the things that mattered most.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son Brian and his mother Lela Sorensen.

David is survived by his daughter Lanae Wiater and her husband Ryan; son Josh Sorensen; father Melvin Sorensen; sister Lori Wirth and her husband Jim; as
well as nieces and grandchildren.
