David Allison Obituary

David Paul Allison was born on July 8, 1944 in Oakland, California. His strong Christian faith was an integral part of his life and influenced everything he did. He was the devoted and loving father of one daughter, Aimee. His first marriage didn't endure for a long time, but he was always a supportive presence in Aimee's life as well as her mother's. He was there if they needed him.

He was with his second wife for 20 years before she passed. He cared for her, lovingly and faithfully, during her final years.

He met his current wife, Marsha, at the tiny VA Medical Clinic in Burns, Oregon in 2012. After going on hikes for four consecutive weekends, they were married.

When he married Marsha, he instantly found himself with the addition of four children and their 16 children! Though he was unaccustomed to being around small children and was a tad uncomfortable, he let them crawl up into his lap and read them stories! He was always thinking of others!

Though Dave was proud to have served his country as a Marine and did a tour in Vietnam, he never reveled in any war stories.

Dave was often self-depreciating although he was an avid reader, a gifted mechanic and a skilled woodworker! He owned his own semi-truck for some years drove it with various types of loads. He also owned his own auto body shop in Santa Cruz, California for several years.

Dave was a true outdoorsman his entire life! As a child, he went hunting, camping, and hiking with his father. As an adult, if he wasn't hiking or going for a motorcycle ride, he was still outdoors doing whatever outside project needed doing.

Dave was a friendly, generous soul! He could/would start up a conversation with anyone; at the gas station, at the grocery or hardware store, on the street corner. He was always ready to help someone in need.

He was a "father figure" to a couple of friends (one whose friendship with Dave lasted for 38 years)! He shared a passion for motorcycles with many of those friends. He made friends easily and will be missed by many.

David died peacefully at his home on February 2, 2025 cared for by his loving wife Marsha.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an older brother, and second wife.
