Danean Alicia Herrera-Riley January 23, 1965 – February 8, 2024
Danean Alicia Herrera- Riley, 59 of Baker City, OR, passed away in the early morning hours on February 8th in her home in Milwaukie, OR. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 - 11:00 a.m. at Pine Haven Cemetery in Halfway, Oregon. Friends are invited to join the family for a Potluck Celebration of her life immediately following the graveside at the Lions Hall.
Danean was born in Klamath Falls, OR on January 23rd 1965 to Fadyne Kaye Willems and Samuel Anacleto Herrera Sr. She spent most of her formal years in Prineville, OR but attended high school in Madras, OR. Later marring her husband Jason L. Riley in the small town of Minden, NV her life very quickly took a turn for the better. Following along with her educational dream she later attained her Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Oregon University and followed on to achieving a life-long goal of earning her Master’s degree from Grand Canyon University in Mental Health Studies. Her passion in life was undoubtedly to help others through their substance dependency and their journey to gain sobriety. The number of lives she touched with her influence and insight was no doubt substantial. Her passion to help others lead her to open a transitional house in Baker City, OR where she showed Women in recovery the process how to take back the control they had lost. Appropriately named “ One Transition at a Time” was a non-profit organization that Danean and her husband Jason built and ultimately coined the phrase “built from the ground up”. Danean had a knack for traditional style Native bead work and taking discarded items and turning them into elegant pieces of art, winning awards from various contests in which she entered her artwork.
Danean Alicia Herrera-Riley is survived by her Husband Jason Levi Riley. Her loving daughters Sascha Alicia Silvers and Shadow Marque Silvers. Also, by her unique and amazing grandchildren Serenity Whisper Silvers who’s passion is art, Journey Wind-River Silvers who’s passion is music, Sabyn Wynter Kraft who’s passion is music as well as video games, and Grayson Wryder Kraft who has a passion for photography, baking, and video games.
Though the pain of her passing will never truly heal within our now incomplete hearts, her memories and the life-long lessons she so unselfishly bestowed in all the lives she impacted will live on, forever.
