Curtis Allen Heck was born July 27, 1959 to Joseph and Agnes Heck in Mandan, North Dakota.  In 1965, he moved to Baker City with his parents and 6 siblings. Curtis was educated in Baker City. His proudest accomplishment was when he earned his GED October, 22 1993.

Curtis was a very hard worker and worked for various ranchers and lawn services in Baker County.  One of his most enjoyable jobs was working for Bill Martin in his different businesses.

Curtis enjoyed camping, hunting and anything that brought him outdoors. Fishing always made him happy, especially when he caught the biggest one and only fish. He especially loved the yearly family deer hunting trip with many siblings, nieces and nephews.  His determination to get a deer never lessened and was always hiking up a hill to get his deer.

Curtis will most be remembered for his kind heart, his love to make people laugh and the simpler things in life.  He had a special way with animals, always having very good and well trained dogs.  No matter his pain and suffering Curtis always had a smile and said he was okay.

He was preceded in death by his sister Leta Fischer; niece Kelly Wimp; grandparents Pevis and Anna Heck and Tim and Katherine Hoffman.

Curtis is survived by his parents Joe and Agnes Heck; sisters Joleen (Mike) Moeller, Doris (Ron) Hutton, Cindy (Shane) Sowers, Carol (Jeff) Petry; brother David (Jackie) Heck; brother-in-law Landon Fischer; 15 nieces and nephews. 13 great nieces and nephews who he loved and enjoyed very much.  Most of all his beloved dog Chester who now lives with Aunt Joleen.
