Billie "Bill" Medford Obituary

Billie Joe Medford, 80, of Baker City, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded with love Monday, December 19th, 2022.

Bill was born September 7, 1942 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to Sarah Josie Jane and Woodrow Medford.  He was the 4th of 10 children.  He grew up in Oklahoma, Idaho and Oregon.

Bill Married Donna Hall in 1966 in Boise, Idaho.  Donna had 3 children; Phyllis, Donna and Roy.  They were married until she passed away in 1967.

Bill met Lynda Balfour (after he winked at her) through his brother Don.  In 1968, they were married in Gresham, Oregon.

Bill worked as a machinist and a pipefitter while raising a family. He was a skilled handyman.  Bill liked to stay busy and enjoyed camping and fishing on the Snake River. He taught his wife and children how to fish. Bill loved wheeling and dealing and working on cars.  In the summers he relished gardening and growing hot peppers to make salsa.  Bill loved Classic Country music and his little dog Dixie.

Bill valued family time.  There was nothing he wouldn’t do to be there for his family.  Bill had a large personality and the gift of making people laugh.  He enjoyed a good prank or joke to put a smile on someone’s face.  He was a people person with a huge heart, often helping others.

Most of all, Bill loved his wife Lynda of 54 years.  She was his “Honey”, “Baby”, “Sweetie”.  He never went a day without him telling her how much he loved her.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Wanda Duggar and Thelma Medford; brothers Jerry, Calvin, Richard and Robert Medford.

Bill is survived by his wife Lynda Medford of Baker City, OR; children Vicki (Guy) Cook of Vancouver WA, Randy (Rachelle) Medford of Longview WA; step children Phyllis Morris of Melba, ID and Roy Hall of Kamiah, ID; sister Velmer Henderson of Prineville, OR, Joyce (Allen) Garner; brother Don (Nancy)Medford; grandchildren Shara Burghardt, Bradley Medford, Jeremy Bowker, Tyler, Marcus and Arianna Maryott; numerous nieces and nephews.
