Timothy "Tim" Fincher

Tim Fincher, 66, died on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Kadlec Medical Hospital in Richland, Washington. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Timothy Lee Fincher was born in Coos Bay, Oregon to Doris Irene (Baker) and John Alfred Fincher on December 3, 1951. He grew up and went to school in La Grande, Oregon most of his life. Tim joined the Army when he was 17 years old and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.

For most of his working career Tim was a Chef and one of the Best at that. His love for cooking led him back home to the La Grande area. Together with his parents he owned "Grandma & Grandpa's Family Restaurant" in Elgin, Oregon.  He lived in Baker from 1972 to 1978 and worked at the Stirrup Room as a Bartender.   Additionally, he cooked in some of the finest establishments in Phoenix, Arizona. He also lived in Pacific City, Oregon and worked as Head Cook at the Tidewater Restaurant. His love for cooking led him back home to the La Grande area and he cooked at the Longbranch for a while..  After meeting his Life Partner Dennis Stillman, he learned to drive truck and delivered watermelons out of Walchi Farms in Hermiston, OR.

Tim Loved Cats. He had several that he cared for soo much. His hobbies included designing original art from copper and other wires, and he most recently baked his nieces wedding cake. Tim was the type of person that had no enemies. If you knew Tim, you were his friend. He will be surely missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his mother Doris Irene (Baker) Fincher; his Father John Alfred Fincher of La Grande; sister Pamela Mae Addington of Elgin, Oregon, and a niece Tineka Rae Fincher of Hermiston, OR.

Tim is survived by his Sister Trudy Myrland and Husband Curtis of Nampa, Idaho, His Only Uncle Donald & Donna Fincher of Summerville, OR; aunt Lola & Ken Colley of Salem, OR and his Life Long Partner of 24 years, Dennis Stillman of Stanfield, Oregon; nephew Kenneth Kalmbach and wife Amanda of Woodland, Washington; niece Shauna Clark and husband Jason of Kennewick, WA, 4 great nephews; 3 great nieces; one great great niece of Walla Walla, Washington, many cousins and friends that were close as family for him.
