Shirley Brunner

Shirley Fay Brunner,72, of Baker City, OR went to sleep surrounded by her family, July 20, 2019 after a 5 year struggle with ovarian cancer.  A celebration of life will be held Saturday August 3, 2019~1:00 p.m. at the Baker City Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Shirley was born February 5, 1947 in Wendell Idaho to Andrew and Nina Sherrill (James). She graduated from Baker High School in 1965. During her Junior and Senior years in high school, Shirley dated Pat Brunner. They spent many dates going for rides on the back his Honda motorcycle. They were married in Baker City, March 18, 1966. 

Shirley was a wonderful beyond words wife, grandmother and friend. She had a very outgoing, loving, happy personality and was loved by so many people, especially the younger ones in her congregation.

Shirley was a talented artist selling oil paintings for many years. She was an excellent seamstress and built numerous quilts that she would give away to her family and friends.

For the last 46 years she has been very active in the ministry of Jehovah’s Witness. Helping people to learn the Bible was the high point of her life.

Shirley had 14 brothers and sisters. 4 of them have preceded her in death and the other 10 are living in Washington, Utah, and Idaho.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years Pat Brunner; daughter Jani Goertzen and son Jeremy Brunner both of Baker City; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
