Raider McAdams

A little about Raider...our little Rat Retriever! My wife was lucky enough to find Raider and bring him in to the family when he was 8 weeks old. We had the privilege of having him with us for nearly 15 years (he was one week shy of his 15th birthday when he passed away). Raider was simply the best dog ever. Wherever we wanted to go, whatever we wanted to do....Raider was all in! He especially loved the water.....and boy could that little guy swim. We literally had to put a life jacket on him as he would swim and retrieve things we threw in the water until he was to the point of dropping from exhaustion. Some of his other favorite things were boating, camping and riding in the Jeep (top off of course). When Raider saw the boat in the driveway he was a happy boy because he knew he would get to go swimming. When camping it didn't matter if it was in a tent or a motorhome (okay, he preferred the motorhome) Raider just wanted to go so he could enjoy the fresh air and chase critters. When we were at home Raider loved to make his "squeaky toys" squeak, snuggle on the couch with Mom & Dad or just lay on his bed next to his brother (Okie) in front of a fire...all the while waiting for his night time snack. Riader was a natural born protector...his grandpa called him "Radar" because Raider heard everything and the slightest noise brought Raider to full attention to protect his home and his family. Raider loved his family fiercely and we loved him in the same way. We will miss you forever buddy but we are glad you are no longer suffering. Mom, Dad and Okie hope you are playing with Tasha, Tucker, Buck, Audi and all the others in the spot where only the best dogs get to go rest.
