Long time resident of Halfway, Oregon, Norman Myers, passed away on May 31, 2019, of natural causes at the age of 91. A Traditional Graveside Service officiated by the Masons, VFW Post #7847 and Honor Guard will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 - 11:00 a.m. at Pine Haven Cemetery in Halfway, Oregon.
Norman served in the Army Airforce as a young man, where he worked in the photo lab in Occupied Japan after WWII. He worked for Boeing Air in the 1950s and then spent the remainder of his working life self-employed as a mechanic, real estate agent and doer of many things! There wasn’t much Norman couldn’t fix or repair.
Norm was active in the Masonic Temple and the VFW Post #7847 in Halfway, working through the ranks along side his much loved and respected father-in-law, Hensley Pritchard. Norm enjoyed traveling with his wife, Neta, and they had many trips to interesting places that usually ended up passing through Reno, NV, where Norm always enjoyed a little recreational time with the one-armed bandit.
Norm spent his last 8 years in Baker City, and until recently could be seen driving daily to downtown Baker City and often having lunch with his grandson, Karmen, and other friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita (Neta) Pritchard Myers; his parents, Cope & Georgia Myers; and his brothers, Fred, Cope (Big Babe) and David.
Norm is survived by his son Ty Myers; daughter Dee Myers and son-in-law Lester O’Dell; grandsons Liberty and Karmen O’Dell; brothers Carl and Dutch, as well as many nieces and nephews.
For those who would like to make a memorial donation in memory of Norm, the family suggests the Shriner's Children's Hospital through Tami's Pine Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Services PO Box 543 Halfway, Oregon 97834. Online condolences may be shared at www.tamispinevalleyfuneralhome.com
