Norma Forsea Obituary

Norma Jean Forsea, 91,of Richland, Oregon  passed peacefully January 2, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. A Traditional Graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 - 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Valley Cemetery in Richland, Oregon. A potluck reception will be held immediately following at the Eagle Valley Grange.

Norma was born in Halfway, Oregon on January 13, 1927 to Arleigh and Georgia Tureman. They later moved to Prairie City, Oregon where she grew up and graduated from school. She met and married Delbert Donaldson in 1946. Four daughters were born of this union, Lana, Connie, Toni and Niki. Norma and Del divorced in 1965. At this time Norma moved her family to Halfway to be closer to her folks and to finish raising her daughters.

Norma met Walt Forsea and in 1974 they wed in Richland Oregon. They blended their families and added Dan, Patti, and Jane for a total of 6 girls and 1 son.

Norma lived in Oregon, Nevada, and California. She was self employed as a bookkeeper, was a grocery checker for Jumbo Lucky Stores of Sacramento, and was a business owner in Halfway. She was also a Judge, Justice of the Peace, in Halfway for a short time.

Norma loved water skiing. She was an avid bowler, and accomplished seamstress which according to Walt, her western shirts were better than store bought. Norma was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She didn’t need much as long as her family was healthy and happy.

She was involved in the Eagle Valley Grange, Oregon Beef Council, and also Oregon Country Beef. She was always ready to help Walt whenever he needed and extra hand. They both loved and never missed a dance at the grange hall. Norma loved the ranching life.

Norma was a simple woman; honest and caring. Together Walt and Norma travelled to Romania, China, Austria, Spain, Japan, Canada and many other places. She enjoyed exploring different cultures and meeting new people. They also took in the PRCA Rodeo Finals in Las Vegas for many years, bull riding events, and Minors Jubilee celebrations in Baker City. It didn’t take much for them to throw an overnight bag in the car and take off for an adventure.

Norma is much loved and will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving cowboy and husband of 45 years, Walt Forsea. She has 12 grandkids, 21 great grandkids and lots of nieces and nephews.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents Arleigh and Georgia Tureman, younger sister Wanda Hall, and one grandson Jacob Corning.
