Mary Whitmore Obituary

My Mother, Mary Whitmore, of Baker City, entered Heaven, May 1, 2019. For some, her passing was a long time ago; for me, it is such a short time, since I cannot believe she is no longer a phone call away. I miss sharing Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, lunch, shopping, spending time together chatting and being blessed to indulge in her homemade tortillas and tamales, extraordinary!  Mom was also amazing at crocheting blankets and needlepointing many pillow cases and dish towels, which are used endlessly.

Mom loved being a Grandma. Sharing in her grandchildren’s lives gave her great joy throughout her years.

She loved playing Nintendo, mostly Mario, with her grandchildren.  She was an awesome player; her grandchildren would wholeheartedly agree! She discovered she thoroughly enjoyed playing Mahjong on her iPad, which she always brought with her, wherever she went!
We both were equally blessed to rejoice together in each of our family blessings and console each other in our family tragedies.  She enjoyed her independence to the max, living on her own and driving wherever she had the inclination as well as chauffeuring grandchildren and friends.

Mom was always a pet lover, whether it was a kitty or a doggie, she loved having one or the other with a bird here and there.

Although Mom and I were not biological Mother and Daughter, we were destined to be, for she is my Guardian Angel and has shown she will continue in her utmost loving and caring ways.

In honor of Mom and her love of lunches at Community Connections and her favorite pumpkin pie with coffee, I am hosting the Thanksgiving entre on Thursday, November 17th, 2022 at Community Connections with lunch being served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For reservations, please call their office at 541-523-6591.  For those who would like to make a donation in Mary’s Memory we ask that you donate to Community Connections through Tami's Pine Valley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, PO Box 543 Halfway, OR 97834. Online condolences can be shared at www.tamispinevalleyfuneralhome.com

Thank you. Eye of the Tiger, Mom; my love to you always,

Anna
