Lyndelle McCoy Obituary

Lyndelle Marie McCoy of Baker City died November 5th, 2018 at Beehive Homes, where she had lived for the past 20 months. At Lyndelle’s request there will be no funeral service.

Lyndelle was born on April 5th, 1935 in Oroville, California to parents Robert Claude McCoy and Eunice Vera Weaver McCoy.  She was the middle child of 3 girls.  Her early years were spent in California, till the age of 6 when her family moved to Oregon for work.  She graduated from St. Marie's in Portland, Oregon and soon after joined the Air Force.  She spent part of her life in El Paso, Texas, Durham, North Carolina, and the last 20 years in Baker City after reconnecting with her nephews.

Sister Joan remembers Lyndelle had a beautiful singing voice and a love of music.  She studied the violin and piano.  Lyndelle enjoyed writing and debating on topics she felt passionately about. She spent many hours on the computer doing research to back up those debates.

Lyndelle’s home always had a small dog to share life with.  She enjoyed spring and summer when she and her dog could get outside to enjoy the blue skies.

Lyndelle lived life her way and she did not mind telling you her opinion.  She liked people to mind their own business and not mess in hers.

Lyndelle was preceded in death by her parents, a niece Kellie Winchester, and a nephew Dean Townsend.

Survivors include her sisters Joan Fujii, Eleanor Winchester; brother Dan (Darlene) Skeels; nephews Paul (Debbie) Townsend, Doug Townsend, Brian Winchester; nieces Julie Warrington and Colleen Halverson and numerous great nieces and nephews.

The family suggest contributions in memory of Lyndelle be made to Baker City Ambulance or Baker City Fire Department through Tami’s Pine Valley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, PO Box 543, Halfway, Oregon 97834. Online condolences may be shared at www.tamispinevalleyfuneralhome.com
