Donald Harris

Donald Eugene Harris, 90, formerly of Sumpter, Oregon,  died on September 24, 2018 at Rosalie's Helping Hands Foster Care Home in La Pine, Oregon.

Don was born on April 9, 1928 in San Bernardino, California to Gus and Artie Mae (Steward) Harris. He was raised in Bloomington, California. He graduated High School in Riverside, California in 1948. Don married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Clark, in Bloomington, California in 1948.

During his life he worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, a millwright and retired from Curry County Road Department. He enjoyed shooting, hunting, fishing and wood working. Don served in the Navy from 1946 to 1948. His favorite thought was "Yesterday - was, Today - is, Tomorrow - May never be.". He enjoyed each season, Spring being his favorite. Memorable times in his life included his marriage and the birth of his sons. Don is remembered for being a good husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Joyce.

Don is survived by his sons David and wife Joyce of Gilroy, California; Michael and his wife Lee Ann of La Pine, Oregon; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandsons.
