Debra Sprague

Debra Sprague, 54, of Halfway, Oregon died at her home in Halfway on April 10, 2018.  A private family gathering will  be held at a later date.

Debra Marie was born at Camp Lejeune US Naval Hospital in North Carolina to Michael and Ann Marie Mulcahy. They did not live there long; Debra grew up primarily in Worcester, Massachusetts.  In 1979, the family moved to Gresham, Oregon and she graduated from Sam Barlow High School.

 Following school Debra worked in a number of places.  She worked for a long time as a Veterinary Technician at SE Animal Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Debra loved working with the animals.   She was also a pharmacy tech for some time at Safeway pharmacy.  Debra and her husband Ed also owned their own business for a while – creating keepsakes for pet owners (Pet Memories).

 She and Ed met in 1981.  They were married October 28th, 1989.  Together they had one son Travis; She took in her niece Cody Renno whom she thought of her as a daughter. 

 Debra and Ed have taken care of many foster children over a period of about eight years.  She provided a safe and loving home to many kids who had nowhere else to go.

 Debra enjoyed Ceramics, planting/growing flowering plants, her animals were extremely important to her.  Being outdoors brought her peace, exploring and finding wildlife with Ed.  She loved taking photos of the scenery and wildlife in and around Halfway. She enjoyed watching the NFL most especially the “Pats.”

 Debra is survived by her husband  Ed Sprague of Halfway, Oregon; son Travis Sprague; daughter Cody; great niece Lexi; parents Michael and Ann Marie Mulcahy; siblings Mike, Steve, Christine and Kathy; mother in law Jean Sprague; sister in law Deborah Barren; several nieces and nephews.
