Byrl Landers, 84, of Richland, Oregon, died at St. Lukes Hospital in Boise, Idaho on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. A Family gathering will be held later. (time and date to be announced)
Byrl was born on April 5, 1935 in the old Hospital in Baker during a snow storm. He was raised in Keating, Oregon by his grandparents Jim and Linnie Gilkison. He attended grade school in Keating and high school in Baker, Oregon, graduating in 1953.
He married Tiz J. Smelcer on December 2, 1954 in Weiser, Idaho. They made their home in Pine Valley (Halfway) Oregon and had three children. He worked as a rancher/farmer in Halfway. Then in 1964 they moved to Vanderhoof, BC. There he ranched and logged. In 1973 they returned to Pine Valley to ranch, dairy and log.
Byrl loved to hunt, fish, camp. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, and his hunting trips with son Gene in Alaska.
A favorite season was fall, watching the changing colors and hunting. Spring when everything began to green up and the weather started to get warmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dale Landers and Merle Motley.
Byrl is survived by his wife of 64 years Tiz, children Gene(Lori) Landers, Leslie (Rick) Morris, Steve (Molly) Landers; Grandchildren Jason, Shawn, Chance, T.J., Randi, Tiff, Ryan and Jozee; 11 great grandchildren.
