Wilma Edwards, 91, of Baker City, Oregon, passed away on April 3, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.
Wilma was born May 29, 1932 in Lewiston, Idaho. She was raised on a wheat ranch in Pomeroy, Washington, graduated from Pomeroy High School and attended Washington State College. Wilma and Dave met at Washington State 4-H summer camp, got married in 1952 and were married for 66 years. They had 6 children and moved to Baker City in 1972.
Wilma volunteered as a 4-H leader, Commission for the Blind, Welcome Wagon hostess, Special Olympics, special ed teacher’s aide, and Meals on Wheels. She was also a long-time member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She loved doing crafts, decorating for Christmas and setting up her Christmas village. Her favorite place was the cabin that she enjoyed for over 50 years. She’ll be remembered for her smile, positive attitude, Christmas open houses, and so much more.
Survivors include daughter Judy Little (Larry), son Thomas Edwards, daughter Susan Worley (Mel), son Allen Edwards, son Rodney Edwards (Mary Cook), daughter Molly Grover (Karl), 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Dave Edwards and daughter-in law-Janet Edwards.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Baker City, date and time to be announced.
