Marylu Guilliams

Marylu Guilliams died Thursday, January 11, 2018 at St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Baker City, Oregon. A Celebration of Marylu's life will be held January 19, 2018~VFW Memorial Club 2005 Valley Avenue in Baker City - Potluck from 5:00 to 6:30 then at 6:30 we will have a time of sharing. Please bring your favorite dish and story.

Marylu was born on May 30, 1928 to parents Lewis and Florence Rohloff. She was raised and attended school in New Jersey.

Marylu spent most of her career as a bartender and cocktail waitress. In her later years, she was a cook and was excellent at her job.

She enjoyed fishing, camping and riding in the woods. She had a talent for beading Native American type metals and sewed which included making clothes for all four of her children. In addition, she also liked crocheting and knitting.

Marylu met Ivan Guiliams through friends and they fell in love. They were married in June of 2006.

She volunteered and belonged to the American Legion for 22 years. She had a passion for our Veterans and was helping out and donating and whenever possible. This encompassed visiting VA nursing homes and the VA Hospital along with making lap robes and various other things to give to them. Marylu will be remembered as being kind and generous.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Ivan, son John Derrick.

Marylu is survived by her daughter Vicki and husband Bill Holman, son Kenneth and his wife Ruby Lee, Gary Eugene Chapman; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; furbabies Samson, Heidi, Buttons, and Eyore.
