Honey Shorts

From the time I got you until your final day,

the happiness you brought me is more than words can say. 

I miss your happy tail wag and you were always by my side. 

The way you lit up when we went for a ride,

the funny way you "talked", your fur so soft and black,

how did I find a partner who always had my back.

 When life would hit a rough patch it helped because you were there

in your unique "Honey Ways"  and you would show me that you care. 

The adventures that we went on, how you could always find a ball,

the time we had together, we'd almost done it all,

right from the beginning, until the very end. 

You were not just a pet, you were family, my best friend.
