Dennis ‘Denny’ Gill: 79, of Baker City, died Jan. 6, 2018, at the Veterans Home in Boise.
Denny Gill - A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. (MST) at the Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth, Idaho. Following the interment, a Celebration of Denny's Life will be held at the VFW in New Plymouth at 11:30 a.m (MST) Arrangements are under the direction of Tami's Pine Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Dad was born July 27, 1938 to Weldon and Barbara Gill of Preston, Idaho. Raised in Payette, along with his three sisters, Sandra, Diane, and Darla, he graduated from Payette High School in 1956. After one year of college at the University of Idaho, Dad joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served his country honorably. He was a Lance Corporal when he finished his duty in 1961.

He went to work at Nelson Sheet Metal in Payette, Idaho after the service. In 1963 Dad married the love of his life, Bonnie Marlene Dennett. Mom's only son, Gregory Dennett became part of Dad's new family, as a son of his heart. That same year Dad started working for Cascade Natural Gas Company. This journey lasted 33 years, where he had worked his way up to district manager of the company before retiring in 1996 in Baker City, Oregon.

Dad and Mom enjoyed time with family and friends – any get-togethers, trips, and events shared along with a great love for golf. He was very involved with tournaments and events at the golf course at Quail Ridge golf course in Baker City.

After 51 years of marriage, Dad's loving wife, Bonnie, passed away in October of 2014. On the early morning of January 6, 2018, our beloved Dad, Denny Gill went to the angels at the VA Hospital in Boise, Idaho.

Dad was a member of the Elks and the United Way. He served on the board of the Industrial Committee as well as being a member of Baker Industrial Resource Information.

He is survived by his stepson, Gregory Dennett; daughter-in-law, Jolynn Dennett; grandchildren, Christopher Dennett, Kellen Dennett, Jessica Dennett, Alicia Wood and Rob Wood; five great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Darla and Vern Stoddard, Sandra McHardue; sisters-in-law, Lapreal Dennett and Bev Schlottman, and many nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon and Barbara Gill; loving wife Bonnie Gill; sister Diane Carico brothers-in-law Bill Dennett, Craig Schlottman, David Pittman and Bill McHardue; sister-in-law Betty Pittman and great-grandson Donavin Rensink. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.(mst) at Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth, Idaho following the interment a Celebration of Life and reception will be held at the VFW in New Plymouth at 11:30 a.m.(mst)

You will be very missed, Dad, and always in our hearts.
