Carl Sheppard

Carl Lester Sheppard of Prairie City Oregon passed away at his home on October 1, 2017.
He was born on May 31,1946 to LaVera and Fred Sheppard.  He was raised in the Ontario/Weiser/Vale country with his two brothers Roy and Randy Sheppard  and one sister Leona Dotson.  He married his first wife and adopted her daughter Wendi Leeper. Together they had two sons, Darryl McKenzy Smith Sheppard and Gene Sheppard.  They moved to Prairie City and LaVera and new husband Walter Clark  followed soon after. Carl worked on various ranches and for the Forest Service.  After getting divorced he married his current wife Gale Sheppard of 38 years. Together they had two daughters, Pamela Woodworth of Prairie City and Ann Marino of Redmond, Oregon. Carl worked for the Forest Service for 30 years and retired to start working for the Confederated Tribes, which he did for 6 years.  His true loves were hunting, fishing, and ranching.   Carl is survived by his mother LaVera Clark; wife Gale Sheppard; two brothers, Roy and Randy Sheppard; and sister Leona Dotson; as well as his five children, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A celebration of life dinner was held on October 7, 2017. Contributions can be made in Carl's name to the Grant County 4-H program  through the OSU Extension Office.   On line condolences may be shared at www.tamispinevalleyfuneralhome.com
